Frequently Asked Questions

How many photos will I get?

I prioritise quality, conceptualisation and intent over a numerical "quota".

This approach also means I don't place a limit on the number of photos delivered.
If a photo passes my internal QC, there's no reason not to let you have it!

Nevertheless, this is a very conservative gauge of a typical session:

  • Actual Day Wedding (8 hours): 350+ photos

  • Pre-wedding couples (3.5 hours): 50+ photos

  • Families (3.5 hours): 50+ photos

  • Studio Portraits (1.5 hours): 60+ photos

You may find this gauge to be lower than other photographers; I factor in time for lighting set up and direction guidance

After my shoot, how long will my photos take to deliver?

Actual Day Wedding — Up to 4 weeks
Pre-wedding couples / Family photoshoot — Up to 3 weeks
Studio Portraits — Up to 2 weeks

These are conservative estimates and I typically aim to deliver earlier than these estimates.

Can I have the "raw" photos?

No, they will not be provided, but allow me to elaborate with an analogy.

As its name suggests, a raw photo is like a raw egg. Bland, unappealing and not intended for consumption. It needs a chef to bring out its latent taste and flavour.

As the "chef", it would be unfitting for me to allow diners to enter the kitchen to do the cooking themselves.

If you have a particular request about the editing style, do let me know before the shoot and I'll advise on it. After all, I too, order my fillets-o-fish without tartar sauce.

Do you also do other types of photography?

Contact me with your people / event / corporate photographer needs, and I'll be happy to show you more past work.

How do we manage who owns the copyright to the photographs?

In short:

  • The photographer's copyright ownership of the photos is limited to portfolio showcase use on his photography business channels

  • Both the photographer and clients undertake that the photographs cannot be used for commercial purposes (portfolio showcase is non-commercial)

  • Any deviation from this arrangement will require a new formal agreement to be reached.

This arrangement is designed to protect your interests and give you greater peace of mind over your valuable photos and image. Our formal agreement will cover this in greater detail.

You mentioned photos will be retouched. What kind of retouching will be done?
  • Retouching includes tweaks to brightness, colours, contrast, and mild skin smoothing, blemish reduction for the couple / family

  • Situationally, small, minor distractions will be removed at my discretion (eg. passers-by, fire extinguishers, rubbish bins)

Was that actually a horse in your gallery?

It behooves me to inform you that I'm no neigh-sayer, sitting on his high horse. You want the concept, I'll try my best to deliver.
